知り合いの60代半ばの人が、自分の世代の人たちと話をしていると、自分たちがいかに老後子どもに迷惑をかけずに生きていくかしか考えておらず、次世代全体のことには関心がないことを嘆いていました。
バブルも経験した世代です。頑張れば頑張るほど、経済が上向になると言われていた時代。退職後、自分たちが暮らすお金は十分にある。時間にも余裕がある。そういう人が、お金がなくても志を持って自分で農業を始めたりする若い人たちに、たとえば稲刈りの時期に時間を提供したりすれば循環されるのではという話になりましたが、現実はなかなかそこまで視野は広がっていないよう。
自分も含め、自分だけ、自分の子どもや孫だけのことを考えるのではなく、世代全体に何ができるかを考えるのは、この閉塞感あふれる時代重要なのではと思うのでした。
Someone in her 60s told me she is sad to see how her acquaintances in the same generation do not care about a whole community but focuses on themselves and their family.
They are relatively wealthy because when they worked was the time the economic was going up. They have sufficient money for the rest of their lives. They have time. But only they talked about is their family. If they are healthy to help young generations trying to do new things, for example, help rice harvesting, it will help, she says.
The Japanese society is definitely more depressing now with low wages that haven't raised for the past 30 years. It must be important to think about the coming generations who happen to live in stagnant years. For me too.
