ハリッサソースをご存知でしょうか。わたしも最近、カルディで見かけて知ったもの。パプリカやクミンが入っている地中海エリアのソースなのですが、最近これにどハマりしています。
見た目は真っ赤で辛そうですが、パプリカが使われていて赤いというのもあり、実はたいして辛くありません。それよりもスパイスが感じられ、これが冷奴にとても合うんです。画像はカルディよりお借りしました。
イスラエル人のお母さんを持つアメリカ人の仕事仲間曰く、ハリッサソースは地域によってさまざまな風味があるのだとか。いつの日か、地中海のいろんなハリッサソースを試すことができますように。
Do you know harissa sauce? I recently knew about it at Kaldi. It's the sauce with cumin and paprika in that sauce. I love it!
Since it's totally red and looks spicy, but the red color is partly from paprika so it's not that hot. You can taste different spices and interestingly, that matches well with cold tofu (hiyayakko).
My American coworker who has an Insraeli mother told me harissa has a whole different variety of flavors depending a region. I'd love to try authentic ones in the region one day!
